The life & career
Buddy Atkinson Sr. was inducted into the National Roller Derby Hall of Fame in 1965, becoming one of the most recognized male skaters of the sport's post-war era. He founded what would become a multi-generation skating family: his son Buddy Atkinson Jr. followed him into the Hall during the 2005 class, mirroring the earlier Bogash mother-son pairing.
The Atkinson name remained associated with high-level banked-track competition for two generations. Further research into Buddy Sr.'s team affiliations and statistical record continues.
