License granted to Roller Derby Legacy
By submitting Content, you retain any copyright and other ownership rights that you lawfully hold. You grant Roller Derby Legacy and its operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license, for the duration of the applicable rights, to host, store, preserve, back up, reproduce, digitize, scan, crop, resize, compress, convert, restore, enhance, transcribe, translate, describe, index, display, publicly transmit, distribute, and otherwise make the Content available for archival, historical, educational, research, accessibility, promotional, and operational purposes connected with Roller Derby Legacy.
This license includes permission to create thumbnails, display copies, accessibility copies, research and analysis copies, preservation copies, and other technical derivatives.
You expressly authorize Roller Derby Legacy to apply visible or invisible origin markings, watermarks, archive identification, the Roller Derby Legacy name or emblem, the website address, attribution information, rights notices, and related metadata to public or downloadable derivatives of the Content.
Roller Derby Legacy may authorize its hosting, storage, content-delivery, security, artificial-intelligence, preservation, and other service providers to process the Content solely as necessary to operate the archive.
This license continues after you close your account, withdraw from participation, or remove a collection from your personal dashboard. Closing an account does not automatically remove Content that has been submitted to or accepted by the archive. Specific removal, restriction, correction, privacy, and rights-holder requests remain subject to the archive’s review procedure and applicable law.
Your responsibility for submitted Content
You represent and warrant, to the best of your knowledge after reasonable inquiry, that:
- You created the Content, own the necessary rights, have received permission, or have accurately selected the option indicating that ownership is uncertain.
- You have authority to grant the license stated in this Agreement.
- You have not knowingly submitted Content in violation of copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or other rights.
- Information you provide about ownership, provenance, people, dates, teams, events, and restrictions is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You will not submit malware, unlawful content, deliberately false rights information, or content intended to harm another person.
If you are uncertain about ownership or permission, you must select Rights uncertain. Such Content may be preserved privately while its publication status is reviewed.
Watermark and derivative consent
I understand and agree that public, downloadable, and shareable versions of my contribution may include a Roller Derby Legacy watermark, emblem, website address, attribution notice, archive identifier, or similar origin marking. I authorize reasonable cropping, resizing, compression, color correction, restoration, formatting, accessibility processing, and other technical changes necessary to preserve, protect, identify, and display the contribution.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, I agree not to assert moral rights against these specifically authorized archival, technical, attribution, and watermarking uses. An uploader who is not the actual author cannot waive the original author’s moral rights.
Account closure does not erase accepted contributions
I understand that deleting my account will not automatically delete materials already accepted into the Roller Derby Legacy archive. My personal account and login data will be removed or de-identified, while accepted contributions are preserved with the attribution preference I selected (for example, “Former contributor” or “Contributor identity withheld”).
What we record with your consent
When you contribute, we record the agreement version and exact displayed wording, your account reference, the collection and item references, the date and time in Japan Standard Time (JST), your rights selection and watermark acknowledgement, your attribution preference, and audit metadata, so that consent is verifiable and any later amendment or withdrawal request can be handled accurately.
This text is provided for transparency and is under review by qualified Japanese counsel experienced in copyright, online platforms, APPI, and international private law before worldwide contributions open.
